Tile printing has always been an excellent way to add some unique style to your home or business décor. You can imprint personalized photographs or pictures onto nearly any tile type and then install them as easily as your average tile. This is most commonly seen with ceramic tiles in places of businesses. Companies can easily print their logos onto tiles or even spell out their slogan using multiple tiles. These services have gone through a lot of drastic changes over the past few decades. Tile printing was already taking place in the 1990's, but using much older methods. For the most part, tiles used to be printed upon using screen and roller printing techniques. It required a lot of setups, the printing wasn't highly accurate, and there was quite a bit of waste produced. A modern approach to tile printing is the use of inkjet printers designed specifically for printing on tiles. These are very similar to the inkjet printers you might use in your home to print on a sheet of paper, but with some slight differences. Inkjet Vs Older Methods. As mentioned, older methods of printing on tiles were not very effective. They consumed a lot of time and resources while producing quite a bit of waste. Inkjet printing methods, on the other hand, are fast, efficient, and don't generate much waste at all. The images they reproduce on the tiles are highly accurate as well. One of the biggest pitfalls of the older screen and roller methods is that the production of the tiles needed to come to a complete stop while the printing took place. Companies couldn't simply streamline the printing process into the manufacturing process. Inkjet printing, on the other hand, allows for nearly instant printing on the tiles while keeping them within their existing production chain. The result is that production of tiles with printed images is more than five times as fast as it was before. There's also the matter of maintaining, repairing, and installing the machinery. In the past, the roller and screen machinery would need to be removed and replaced every so often. The films, adhesive, and the chemicals used also needed to be replaced regularly. Inkjet tile printing does not fall victim to any of these pitfalls. The ink may require refilling periodically, but the rest of the machine lasts much longer than the older alternatives. Inkjet Printing Isn't Difficult.Perhaps one of the greatest attributes of digital inkjet printing is how simple it is. The machine works by propelling a small stream of ink onto the surface of the tile. The tile requires nearly no additional setup time. Without the extra setup time needed for older techniques, the time frame for printing on a tile is more than cut in half. It also happens to be a very versatile printing method. The primary component coming into contact with the tile is wet ink. That means that it is capable of printing equally well on very fragile tile. Likewise, it can print on a tile with an irregular surface or shape. Of course, every machine has its limitations. Most of these machines are limited by the number of designs that they can store. However, unlike older methods of tile printing, this one is purely digital. That makes it much easier to overcome these obstacles. It is often as simple as extending the memory of the printer. A large company printing various tile designs can add enough extra memory to their printers that they rarely need to worry about storage space. Because of the digital nature of the design they can be added or removed from the printer's memory with very little effort. When a particular tile design is no longer being printed, it can be stored elsewhere to free up the memory of the printer. If it ever enters production again, then it can simply be added back to the printer's memory, and production can continue as usual. A Game Changer.Inkjet technology has completely revolutionized tile printing services everywhere. If you are a homeowner or a business owner who wants custom printed tiles you no longer need to worry about taking out a second mortgage just to cover the costs. Inkjet technology has made tile printing quick, simple, and affordable for everyone. from http://bit.ly/2nPVCoZ
